Notes: Healthy Criticism

Harvest OC
Pastor Pancho is talking to us what he calls a very harsh subject. Criticism is something that everyone deals with.
1 Corinthians 4:1-5 NKJV
[1] Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. [2] Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. [3] But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. [4] For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. [5] Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God.
Paul had criticism in all directions. He defends himself in this scripture.
Really nobody likes to be criticized.
Pancho is talking about a Sunday where after a service a woman came up and said that her niece said that he was an idiot. He said he wanted to respond to her in a carnal fashion.
She then said that her niece is a lifeguard and he immediately knew what the woman was talking about and it was a justified statement.
He blew the distress whistle in a pool and all the lifeguards jumped in and tried to save him.
When Paul was being criticized he said he did not pay attention to them because he only cares about what his master Jesus Christ calls him to do.
Pancho says we are all responsible for the talents and actions we take. We will be criticized for all the things we do.
There is instructive, constructive criticism and destructive criticism.
Acts 18:24-28 NKJV
[24] Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. [25] This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John. [26] So he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. [27] And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace; [28] for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.
Pancho says Aquila and Priscilla gave constructive criticism and Apollo accepted it.
The criticism towards Paul was destructive.
Pancho is giving us a back drop about Moses in Exodus 18. Moses was a great man of God.
Exodus 18:6-12 NKJV
[6] Now he had said to Moses, "I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her." [7] So Moses went out to meet his father-in-law, bowed down, and kissed him. And they asked each other about their well-being, and they went into the tent. [8] And Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the hardship that had come upon them on the way, and how the LORD had delivered them. [9] Then Jethro rejoiced for all the good which the LORD had done for Israel, whom He had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians. [10] And Jethro said, "Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh, and who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. [11] Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods; for in the very thing in which they behaved proudly, He was above them." [12] Then Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and other sacrifices to offer to God. And Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before God.
Criticism comes to all of us if we work in a light house, warehouse, White House or crack house.
It takes one minute to make someone's day and only one word to destroy someone life.
2 Corinthians 5:13 NKJV
[13] For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
2 Corinthians 10:2 NKJV
[2] But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
2 Corinthians 7:2 NKJV
[2] Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one.
Pancho is talking about a quote from a book, he said you can be doing anything and be a leader. Aristotle said if you don't want criticism then, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing. It was said there is nothing that can be more destructive to leadership then it criticism.
Leaders need to go to self sacrifice. Loneliness is something that leaders experience. Paul says he receives the Gospel from Jesus Christ and no one else.
Galatians 1:1 NKJV
[1] Paul, an apostle (not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),
Pancho said some people like scripture when they are criticized. He said he likes to hum a song. That tells him to remember why he follows Jesus Christ. He said we need to be emancipated from our own sin.
Acts 26:15 NKJV
[15] So I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
Acts 26:16-18 NKJV
[16] But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. [17] I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, [18] to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'
That is where Jesus Christ gave Paul the mission in his commission.
He said Paul said after 30 years he was still looking to get closer to the Lord.
Psalm 141:5 NKJV
[5] Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.
Paul wanted a righteous man to criticize him, no one else.
Pancho is saying he can't believe that people at the age of 40 or at any age think they have it together.
He says criticism helps you by providing humility and ultimately would help with your self worth.
He says some people should speak right to your heart. Like your wife or children. They are your critics and are there to help you, after all they know you.
Pancho is telling us about Roman Law, how they would require a slave to stand behind their Generals. When people tell him he's a god, the slave would remind him he was not. Pancho says that role is played by his wife.
1. Understand criticism will come from all sides.
Paul welcomed criticism but only by Godly men. Keep an opened mind.
2. Seek to favor the Lord. Not the people and their opinions.
We are to obey God rather than men.
3. Present yourself to God.
Psalm 26:1-12 NKJV
[1] Vindicate me, O LORD, For I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the LORD; I shall not slip. [2] Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart. [3] For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. [4] I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites. [5] I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And will not sit with the wicked. [6] I will wash my hands in innocence; So I will go about Your altar, O LORD, [7] That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works. [8] LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house, And the place where Your glory dwells. [9] Do not gather my soul with sinners, Nor my life with bloodthirsty men, [10] In whose hands is a sinister scheme, And whose right hand is full of bribes. [11] But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; Redeem me and be merciful to me. [12] My foot stands in an even place; In the congregations I will bless the LORD.
Paul said we should only worry about what our Lord thinks.
4. Consider, ponder and contemplate the type of criticism.
He said Instructive Criticism should be listened too.
5. Criticism should be dispensed with gentleness.
The purpose of criticism should be to help or restore you.
6. Who dispensed the criticism.
"consider the source" is it a mentor or an enemy.
Galatians 2:11 NKJV
[11] Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;
He said Peter was needed to be corrected.
Galatians 2:12-16 NKJV
[12] for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. [13] And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. [14] But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, "If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? [15] We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, [16] knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
7. Is the critique accurate and true.
As a believer you are a new creation in Christ. Are you the same person as the person that was critiqued.
He says we aren't perfect but we need to run that race until we reach Christ in Heaven.
If you believe with your heart and want to receive the Lord then you will be saved.
Learning and Sharing. In April 2013 my life greatly transformed as I finally submitted to Jesus Christ and began to follow Him. While I was taking notes, God was working on me and I have been blessed by Him ever since. This blog is all the notes that I have saved. I am adding more weekly as I grow closer to Jesus Christ. I thank all the pastors and teachers that have provided me the information. I hope that my notes can be a blessing for others. God bless you all and please enjoy!

Bitterness of Soul
Pastor Pancho Juarez - 1 Samuel 1 - Subject of Bitterness - 5/4/2014
Pancho ask us to think of someone that makes us bitter. He describes how sometimes when he is the pastor at funerals that he has to break up fights.
Job was put through great trials and he said: Job 7:11 “Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
Hezekiah was bitter: Isaiah 38:3 and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
When a lot of people get bitter the get bilingual - they get Johnny Walker or Jose Cuervo, or they get over medicated. People get an erupting volcano inside them of bitterness.
Paul the Apostle tells men not to get bitter to their wives, it does not tell women not to get bitter. Pastor Pancho says us men should know why it says that.
Hebrews 12:15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
1 Samuel 1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim Zophim, of the mountains of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu,[a]the son of Tohu,[b] the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. 2 And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. 3 This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. Also the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there. 4 And whenever the time came for Elkanah to make an offering, he would give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and daughters. 5 But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the Lord had closed her womb.
When there is preferential treatment in the family then we all know there is a problem, if we are preferential to one kid the other kids know and have resentment.
1 Samuel 6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb.
We do not know why God closed her womb.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
1 Samuel 7 So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat.
We read that Hannah is emotionally distraught and does not eat.
1 Samuel 8 Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”
Her husband, like most of us husbands, does not understand why she is upset. He thinks that his love is enough.
1 Samuel 9 So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the Lord. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish.
She basically and emotional basket case, the Bible describes her soul as being bitter. The heart is in anguish. Then she comes to a point of pouring her heart out to the lord. Before you get to that point, many have lashed out at others, hurting family and friends, becoming alienated from those they love.
Bitterness causes a loss of many of the emotional blessings of God.
Ruth 1:20 But she said to them, “Do not call me Naomi;[a] call me Mara,[b] for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. 21 I went out full, and the Lord has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the Lord has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?”
Pastor said when someone told him to turn to Jesus and his problems would go away, but Pancho said he did not do that, he decided that getting high could make his problems go away. But that was only temporary, drugs make problems go away for some temporary and then they are an additional problem.
When you become a Christian your problems will not go away, but you do have a leader a counselor and someone to turn to. His name is Jesus Christ.
3 Reasons from the Bible for suffering:
Produce fruit
Glorify God
Rebuke our sin
God can remove the bitterness from your heart, He gets it and loves you and you are not alone.
1 Samuel 11 Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” 12 And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. 13 Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. 14 So Eli said to her, “How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!” 15 But Hannah answered and said, “No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. 16 “Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman,[d] for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.” 17 Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.” 18 And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. 19 Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembered her. 20 So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.” 21 Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow. 22 But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever.” 23 So Elkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems best to you; wait until you have weaned him. Only let the Lord establish His[f] word.” Then the woman stayed and nursed her son until she had weaned him. 24 Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of theLord in Shiloh. And the child was young. 25 Then they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli. 26 And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him.28 Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there.
Hannah’s son Samuel became one of the greatest prophets of the Bible.
Pastor Pancho said when he accepted Jesus into his life, he went from a drunkard that woke up at 2 pm that afternoon 39 years ago to accepting Jesus into his life that evening and has not looked back.
Have you accepted the grace of Jesus Christ yet?

Dealing with the Devil's Devices
March 13, 2014
Pastor Pancho
Juarez
Thursday Night Harvest
We're not ignorant of the enemies
devices.
2 Corinthians 2:11 NKJV
[11] lest Satan should take
advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Acts 5 and 11 Two Stories of
Ananias
Bad company corrupts good morals.
Before he was a Christian he had
his own world view. Smoking pot, selling pot and stealing was part of Pancho's
life.
When he became a Christian he got
a new world view.
When you violate Gods word based
on economics., it's not a reason.
We are all always being
influenced.
1 Corinthians 5:1-5 NKJV
[1] It is actually reported that
there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even
named among the Gentiles-that a man has his father's wife! [2] And you are
puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be
taken away from among you. [3] For I indeed, as absent in body but present in
spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this
deed. [4] In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together,
along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, [5] deliver such
a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved
in the day of the Lord Jesus.
1 John 4:4 NKJV
[4] You are of God, little
children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he
who is in the world.
Acts 4:32-37 NKJV
[32] Now the multitude of those
who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of
the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. [33]
And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord
Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. [34] Nor was there anyone among them
who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and
brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, [35] and laid them at the
apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. [36] And
Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of
Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, [37] having land, sold it,
and brought the
money and laid it at the
apostles' feet.
Acts 5:1-4 NKJV
[1] But a certain man named
Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. [2] And he kept back part
of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part
and laid it at the apostles' feet. [3] But Peter said, "Ananias, why has
Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the
price of the land for yourself? [4] While it remained, was it not your own? And
after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this
thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."
20 Gifts are throughout the
bible: ie, gifts of help, gift of discernment etc. All Christians have a gift
of some kind.
Peter has the gift of wisdom, he
knew how to discern the truth of what was going on around him.
2 Kings 5:1-27 NKJV
[1] Now Naaman, commander of the
army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his
master, because by him the LORD had given victory to Syria. He was also a
mighty man of valor, but a leper. [2] And the Syrians had gone out on raids,
and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited
on Naaman's wife. [3] Then she said to her mistress, "If only my master
were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy."
[4] And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, "Thus and thus said
the girl who is from the land of Israel." [5] Then the king of Syria said,
"Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." So he
departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold,
and ten changes of clothing. [6] Then he brought the letter to the king of
Israel, which said, Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have
sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy. [7] And it
happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and
said, "Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me
to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a
quarrel with me." [8] So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the
king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying,
"Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall
know that there is a prophet in Israel." [9] Then Naaman went with his
horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha's house. [10] And Elisha
sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times,
and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean." [11] But
Naaman became furious, and went away and said, "Indeed, I said to myself,
'He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his
God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.' [12] Are not the
Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of
Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?" So he turned and went away
in a rage. [13] And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, "My
father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have
done it? How much more then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean'?"
[14] So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the
saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little
child, and he was clean. [15] And he returned to the man of God, he and all his
aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, "Indeed, now I know
that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please
take a gift from your servant." [16] But he said, "As the LORD lives,
before whom I stand, I will receive nothing." And he urged him to take it,
but he refused. [17] So Naaman said, "Then, if not, please let your
servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer
either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD. [18] Yet in
this thing may the LORD pardon your servant: when my master goes into the
temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in
the temple of Rimmon-when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the LORD
please pardon your servant in this thing." [19] Then he said to him,
"Go in peace." So he departed from him a short distance. [20] But
Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, "Look, my master has
spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought;
but as the LORD lives, I will run after him and take something from him."
[21] So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw him running after him, he got
down from the chariot to meet him, and said, "Is all well?" [22] And
he said, "All is well. My master has sent me, saying, 'Indeed, just now
two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of
Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of
garments.'" [23] So Naaman said, "Please, take two talents." And
he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of
garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead
of him. [24] When he came to the citadel, he took them from their hand, and
stored them away in the house; then he let the men go, and they departed. [25]
Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did
you go, Gehazi?" And he said, "Your servant did not go
anywhere." [26] Then he said to him, "Did not my heart go with you
when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive
money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male
and female servants? [27] Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you
and your descendants forever." And he went out from his presence leprous,
as white as snow.
Acts 5:5-6 NKJV
[5] Then Ananias, hearing these
words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who
heard these things. [6] And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him
out, and buried him.
"The fear of God is the
beginning of knowledge."
Acts 5:7-11 NKJV
[7] Now it was about three hours
later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. [8] And Peter
answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She
said, "Yes, for so much." [9] Then Peter said to her, "How is it
that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of
those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you
out." [10] Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her
last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out,
buried her by her husband. [11] So great fear came upon all the church and upon
all who heard these things.
Satan had entered the heart of
this man.
The will of men, can keep us from
doing many things. Such as apologize or ask for forgiveness.
Acts 13:9-10 NKJV
[9] Then Saul, who also is called
Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him [10] and said,
"O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of
all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?
John 8:44 NKJV
[44] You are of your father the
devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from
the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in
him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar
and the father of it.
Study the Bible, study about
Satan because you need to know our enemy. We need to know about his tools and
his weapons.
2 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV
[4] whose minds the god of this
age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory
of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Only through the word of God will
you find the conviction.
1 Thessalonians 2:18 NKJV
[18] Therefore we wanted to come
to you-even I, Paul, time and again-but Satan hindered us.
Revelation 12:9-10 NKJV
[9] So the great dragon was cast
out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole
world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. [10]
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength,
and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the
accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has
been cast down.
The past can become a bully and
can paralyze you.
Satan can use, fear, death,
grief, greed, unconfessed sin etc. these are all his weapons.
Acts 9:1-9 NKJV
[6] So he, trembling and
astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord
said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you
must do." [7] And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing
a voice but seeing no one. [8] Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his
eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him
into Damascus. [9] And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor
drank.
Acts 9:10-14 NKJV
[10] Now there was a certain
disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision,
"Ananias." And he said, "Here I am, Lord." [11] So the Lord
said to him, "Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at
the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.
[12] And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his
hand on him, so that he might receive his sight." [13] Then Ananias
answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he
has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. [14] And here he has authority from the
chief priests to bind all who call on Your name."
Acts 22:12 NKJV
[12] "Then a certain
Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good testimony with all
the Jews who dwelt there,
1 Peter 3:10-12 NKJV
[10] For " He who would love
life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from
speaking deceit. [11] Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek
peace and pursue it. [12] For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And
His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those
who do evil."
Acts 9:17 NKJV
[17] And Ananias went his way and
entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, "Brother Saul, the
Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you
may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit."
