Acts 8:29-30 NLT
[29] The Holy Spirit said to
Philip, "Go over and walk along beside the carriage." [30] Philip ran
over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, "Do
you understand what you are reading?"
Phillip is not a pastor but he
was talking about God to this man.
If you are being baptized today,
you don't have to have complete understanding to know God.
Like Phillip, God has called all
of us. We all have asked how do I get weight with God? Many decide to go to
church....many have done that and didn't think "it worked"
So many then decide to read the
Bible and don't understand it. That is where the man Phillip is talking to is.
God had his eye on Phillip to
teach the man how to find God. So he had Phillip seek this man out.
God can do this to all of us,
send us or send someone to us, all to get is closer to God.
The eunuch told Phillip he didn't
know what he was reading. Phillip the taught the eunuch.
Acts 8:34-38 NLT
[34] The eunuch asked Philip,
"Tell me, was the prophet talking about himself or someone else?"
[35] So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about
Jesus. [36-37] As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch
said, "Look! There's some water! Why can't I be baptized?" [38] He
ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip
baptized him.
If you believe in The Lord then
you may be Baptized!
The scripture is proof that all
you need to have to be baptized is believe in Jesus Christ.
Baptism is just an outward
display of what Jesus has done to you inwardly.
Romans 6:7-11 NLT
[7] For when we died with Christ
we were set free from the power of sin. [8] And since we died with Christ, we
know we will also live with him. [9] We are sure of this because Christ was
raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any
power over him. [10] When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But
now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. [11] So you also should
consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through
Christ Jesus.
Baptism is identifying with the
death of Jesus Christ.
You are now dead to your old self
and now walking with The Lord.
Baptism is the public proclamation
of where you are with Jesus in your life.
