Revelation 20
Pastor Jeff was telling a joke
about a lady and her atheist neighbor.
Speaking about how many different
churches participated in the Crusade: It's not about the name above the church
door, it's all about the name above all names!
Jeff is talking about the message
title and how Sinatra sang a song by the same name.
Jeff is now talking about the
back drop of Revelation 20 mad the reign of Jesus on earth.
Revelation 20:10 NKJV
[10] The devil, who deceived
them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the
false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
1. The first future blessing is
that the devil will be gone forever.
The devil isn't in the first two
chapters of the Bible and he is kicked out before the last two chapters.
The devil becomes a conquered
enemy, a defeated foe that we will never hear of again.
Many people today don't believe
in God or that the devil exist.
D.L. Moody says he knows the
devil exist because the bible says so and that he has done business with him,
When the devil brings up your
past, you can bring up his future.
Another promise is that there is
going to be a new heaven and earth.
Revelation 21:1 NKJV
[1] Now I saw a new heaven and a
new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there
was no more sea.
2. This tells us that there will
be significant changes in eternity.
Isaiah 65:17 NKJV
[17] "For behold, I create
new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to
mind.
2 Peter 3:10 NKJV
[10] But the day of the Lord will
come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great
noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the
works that are in it will be burned up.
God is going to make it all new
because satan has polluted heaven and earth.
Revelation 12:10 NKJV
[10] Then I heard a loud voice
saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our
God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren,
who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
Devil means accuser; Satan means
slanderer.
Jeff says he reads the newspaper
everyday after reading his Bible.
Revelation 21:4 NKJV
[4] And God will wipe away every
tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.
There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
3. No more sorrow.
Someone said, we were born
crying, we live crying and we die crying.
The day will come when all that
ends, no more crying or causes to cry.
Heaven is the land of living and
earth is the land of dying.
Revelation 21:5 NKJV
[5] Then He who sat on the throne
said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me,
"Write, for these words are true and faithful."
Never put a question mark where
God puts an exclamation point.
Isaiah 65:17 NKJV
[17] "For behold, I create
new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to
mind.
Revelation 21:22-27 NKJV
[22] But I saw no temple in it,
for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. [23] The city had no
need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated
it. The Lamb is its light. [24] And the nations of those who are saved shall
walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into
it. [25] Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night
there). [26] And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into
it. [27] But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes
an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of
Life.
4. There will be no more sin.
The wages of sin is death, so
there is no more death or sorrow.
Revelation 21:8 NKJV
[8] But the cowardly,
unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and
all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death."
There is not a sin that God can't
forgive if the sinner truly repents.
Sorcerers are those who do witch
craft and drug users.
Revelation 21:24 NKJV
[24] And the nations of those who
are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory
and honor into it.
What language will we speak in
Heaven? Currently there are about 6,500 languages on earth. Jeff believes there
will be only one language in Heaven.
Jeff is talking about the Tower
of Babel.
Genesis 11:9 NKJV
[9] Therefore its name is called
Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from
there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.
Zephaniah 3:9 NKJV
[9] "For then I will restore
to the peoples a pure language, That they all may call on the name of the LORD,
To serve Him with one accord.
We don't know what that one
language will be.
Revelation 22:3 NKJV
[3] And there shall be no more
curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants
shall serve Him.
5. There will be no more curse.
That is no curse of sin.
One curse is hard labor.
Thorns were the curse of man and
Jesus wore that Crown of thorns on the cross.
We will also be serving God in
Heaven.
If people think Heaven will be
boring then they probably have a very fragile view of The Lord.
Joy will be the very serious
business of Heaven.
There is joy in serving The Lord.
What will we be serving him
doing?
Paul says we will be judging
angles, we will be taking care of all of Gods creatures.
Revelation 22:4 NKJV
[4] They shall see His face, and
His name shall be on their foreheads.
6. We will see His face
Exodus 33:18-20 NKJV
[18] And he said, "Please,
show me Your glory." [19] Then He said, "I will make all My goodness
pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be
gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will
have compassion." [20] But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no
man shall see Me, and live."
God is in Heaven and we get to
see Him and be with Him.
The greatest punishment in
eternity is not being with God.
2 Thessalonians 1:9 NKJV
[9] These shall be punished with
everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His
power,
Revelation 22:17-19 NKJV
[17] And the Spirit and the bride
say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him
who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. [18]
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If
anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written
in this book; [19] and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this book.
John 14:6 NKJV
[6] Jesus said to him, "I am
the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Believing that Jesus is the only
way to Heaven is not being narrow minded, it is the narrow road we must travel
to get there.
What is this world offering to
you that is better then traveling that road to get to Heaven?
