Jeremiah 12
September 8, 2013
Jeremiah was from Judah.
Sin always brings weakness.
If your faith isn't working in
your home then it isn't working.
1. You ain't seen nothing yet.
Jeremiah 12:5 (KJV)
If thou hast run with the
footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses?
and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee , then
how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
Jeremiah didn't need to be
cuddled, he needed to be challenged. Just like us.
God increases our threshold for
pain, he doesn't decrease our suffering.
2. Opposition escalates with
opportunity.
3. Train for the trial your not
yet in.
If you knew a trial was coming on
a certain date, how would that affect you?
Right now you are in training,
you just don't know what for.
Storms reveal foundations, it is
not a good time to lay one.
4. God puts to use, what He puts
you through.
He catches your tears in a
bottle.
Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
For I know the thoughts that I
think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give
you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for
you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.
5. Your strength will fail.
Horses are faster than people,
you will fail if you try to run with them.
Isaiah 40:28-31 (NIV)
Do you not know? Have you not
heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. [29]
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. [30] Even
youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; [31] but those who
hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
