Elijah knew God and a man of
prayer. Prayer in private was his source of power in public.
Elijah faithfully delivered the
message he was given to deliver even though is was a sad message to deliver.
1 Kings 19:19-21 (NKJV)
So he departed from there, and
found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen
before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw
his mantle on him. [20] And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said,
"Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow
you." And he said to him, "Go back again, for what have I done to
you?" [21] So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and
slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen's equipment, and gave
it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became
his servant.
Everything we go through in life
is perpetration for something else.
He was a man who had low moments
too.
Matthew 28:19-20 (NKJV)
Go therefore and make disciples
of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Amen.
Older believers should find
younger believers and younger believers need to find an older believer to talk
to.
John 4:35 (NKJV)
Do you not say, 'There are still
four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your
eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
Ministry is everywhere!
Work where you are, faithful in
the little things will lead you to great things.
Luke 9:62 (NKJV)
But Jesus said to him, "No
one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom
of God."
References leaving a family
reunion is hard to do and takes time. Buying time.
1 John 5:3 (NKJV)
For this is the love of God, that
we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
2 Kings 2:9-12 (NKJV)
And so it was, when they had
crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask! What may I do for you,
before I am taken away from you?" Elisha said, "Please let a double
portion of your spirit be upon me." [10] So he said, "You have asked
a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be
so for you; but if not, it shall not be so." [11] Then it happened, as they
continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses
of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into
heaven. [12] And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, "My father, my father,
the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!" So he saw him no more. And he
took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.
What kind of legacy are you
leaving today?
